With the new technology revolution as a symbol of the rapid development an d knowledge economy field, the global economic growth mode has changed funda mentally, and the importance of knowledge and human capital are increasingly obvious. The process of the world depends more and more on the talent, who are the power of knowledge and process of technology. The economic and social development will be more dependent on the quality of workers. After China joined in WTO, increased competition has put forward higher requirements on the overall quality of the population. What is the current situation of economic development and human capital in our country? In the process of economic growth, what’s role of human capital? What is the current situation of education and educational attainment of population? How do workers’level of education, especially high education and higher education, affect the economic growth? What steps can our government can take to improve the stock of human capital and make human capital be the inexhaustible driving force for promoting our economic growth?Thinking of these questions above, major contents of the thesis is the influence in the economic growth from workers who have received high-school and above education or higher education. The thesis contains four parts. The first part is the introduction. It mainly elaborates the background、purpose、meaning and structure of the study. The second part mainly summarizes the relevant domestic and international literature and analysis the current situation of our country’s economy and education. The third part is the empirical analysis process of the relations between workers who have received high-school and above education or higher education and economic growth. The last part is the conclusions based on the previous results of analysis and proposals to increase the stock of human capital and promote economic growth. The characteristic of the paper is that it does a quantitative study of the relations between workers who have received high-school and above education or higher education and economic growth. To some extent, the results of this study can enrich the existing human capital theory and provide a reference for future research.The paper also has some inadequacies; like that there are some data measurement errors and the study only focus on the most important part of human capital while ignoring the other aspects. How to accurately measure the stock of human capital will be the focus of the next research phase.
