Economic activities usually involve both business behavior and cultural influence. This can be due to the characteristics of corporate competition, which is different from personal competition, is determined by the integral strength of its staff. Since corporate culture is the commonly accepted value, belief and behavior of all the staff, it plays an important role in companies. It can guide, motivate and regulate their staff. Therefore, corporate culture is supposed to be the spirit of a company, steering the company towards a better performance on the market, more importantly, towards a sustainable development. Quite a number of world well-known brands have proved this.Based on extensive literature review of advanced theories about corporate culture, this article combines the theory with practice and clarifies completely the definition on corporate culture. This has laid foundation for the further analysis of Gansu Dongxing Aluminium Co., Ltd. The current corporate culture has been checked. Besides the advantages, the existing problems are being detected as well, and corresponding solutions are provided in the end. Finally, a practical improved proposal is devised. The application of the newly designed program is tracked, too.The whole article is divided into six sections. Firstly, it reviews the definition and functions of corporate culture so as to shed light on the significant effect on improving the core competition of a company. Secondly, it introduces the characteristics of corporate culture in three countries, namely, America, Japan and China. Thirdly, the current situation and existing problems of Gansu Dongxing Aluminium Co., Ltd. are introduced and discussed. All the conclusions are resulted from practical study, including questionnaires with its employees as well as managers. According to the investigation, existing problems in cultural construction are analyzed through four perspectives:(a) Physical culture tends to be superficial;(b) Behavioral culture is too simple;(c) Institutional culture manifests the problem of low execution capacity;(d) Spiritual culture cannot advance with the times. In the end, a modified strategy is come up with. This article also sparks inspiration for companies that intend to redesign its corporate culture system to enhance performance.The novelty of this article is the four perspectives from which corporate culture can be analyzed and reconstructed.
