Research On The Measurement,Mechanism And Control Strategy Of Urban Sprawl

With developing of global economic and urbanization.urban sprawl as a hot topic got much attention of worldwide.Because its early appearance in western countries,plentiful research about its concept,mechanism,impact and strategy has been conducted.However,different from western countries,China is experiencing modified form,its development is the result of globalization,marketization, information and urbanization.Therefore.China’s development has its unique characteristics,a set of western research can not simple copy.Since reform and opening,the urbanization of China is speeding up fast and lead to a phenomenon similar to western countries.For example,disorder extended,inefficient land use,leapforg development,open space loss,ecological environmental damage and destructive of cultivated land.At this background,the sprawl of China also become a hot topic in China,However.China is still at a initial stage,the existing research mainly focus on the experienced review,lacking quantitative study and a systematic analyses.The appearance of sprawl in western is the result of marketing,but for China,it is the dominant of government. So it is necessary to find a suitable way for China,This thesis take Nanjing as an example.First of all,use ArcGIS empletement1996,2002and2008land use graph analyze the general trend of Nanjing,and then divide Nanjing into urban area and subway area,make a comparative analysis of11regional in NanJing,time covers from1996-2002and2002-2008,the content including measurement of sprawl and mechanism and strategy.The calculation of measurement including growth elasticity and loose degree,growth elasticity means the rate of population increase and construction increase.loose degree means the rate of perimeter and area of every regional,in the end,calculate the weighted summation.From the result,we can get conclusion is in the1996-2002period time,the sprawl regional is QinHuai.QiXia,JiangNing and in the2002-2008period time,the sprawl regional is XuanWu,QiXia,JiangNing and LiuHe.About mechanism.this paper mainly from the views of government.Such as administrative division adjustment,the land use and globalization.The strategy take example of "smart growth",put forward feasible advice.
