The Impact Of Labor Mobility On Regional Economic Disparity In Hubei Province

With the development of economic integration,the factor flow regime barrier is gradually erased and the stage of the factor mobility is gradually deepened,under the effect of which,the influrence of the factor mobility on the economic development in different regions has become the important subject facing the practices.In particular,under the premise of the differentiated regional development,the study on the internal mechanism of the factor mobility influence on the regional difference is,not only beneficial to the effective allocation of the limited social resources,but also beneficial to improve the level of social welfare.This can provide the departments with the theoretical basis to make the effective economic and regional policies.This paper starts with the internal mechanism of the impact of the labor mobility on the regional economic disparity from different angels like economic convergence,workforce and scale, factor flow and so on.Through large objective data we know that as an important labor output,Hubei has her outflow labors transferred to take up an occupation within Hubei Province increasingly and this local shift is increasingly apparent.To observe more intuitively we useTheil index to mesure the economic disparity in Hubei,and it turns out that the disparity in different regions in Hubei is narrowing,and interprovincial disparity is much larger than inner-province. Is there any closely connection between the labor mobility and regional economic disparity in Hubei Province as a province with a large population of mobile labor nationwide? Empirical test will show.The empirical research is depending on Neoclassical Solow-Swan growth theory.By the means of convergence of regional economic growth we can explore the difference between economic growth in regions.thus we can finally find out the economic disparity.The empirical result shows that economic growth in Hubei is conditionally convergent.That’s to say the economic disparity in different regions in Hubei is narrowing under the control of outflow labors.and the outflow of labor can delay the local economic growth.By comparing two econometric models,we find out that the rate of convergence is lower after removing the variable of labor flow:the pattern of labor flow in Hubei can promote economic disparity in Hubei lessening. In Hubei Province,the initial value of the economic development between regions and direction of labor mobility are different,the development of some individual regions goes far ahead,and the entire area of the province does not reach a certain size,as a result of which,the contribution of the regional labor mobility is not way notable as some variables to the regional economic development.But the influence is certain.
