A Study On Inland Open Economy In China’s Western Region

Until2010, the first stage of western development program has been completed. During the past decade, the average annual economic growth rate of western region reached11.9percent and breakthrough have been made in infrastructure construction. Ecological construction reached to an unprecedented scale, social undertakings made great progress and people’s living standards improved significantly. Ten years of western development is the time that western region of China contribute most prominent to the development of our country.In our future, the next decade will be crucial to further implement the strategy of reform and opening up, improve the level of opening up to the west and build a strategic high ground inland open economy. Therefore, studying the development of western region of inland open economy is not only useful to promoting western development strategy and important to achieving accelerated development of the western region’s economic, but also important initiatives to the new period of implement the state and the western development "Twelfth Five-Year" plan.In this paper, the study of China’s western region development of inland open economy has been divided into six chapters:Chapter1is the background of this topic, significance, research methods and content etc., and we analyses the current research status at home and abroad; Chapter2is based on the definition of inland open economy connotation and reviews some relevant basic theories; Chapter3analysis the mode of progress of inland open economy, the path and the target in theoretical way; Chapter4investigate to the current situation of development of China’s western region inland open economy, including the basic conditions, current status and future development potential, and on this basis, we know some shortcomings of western region inland open economy after we compare the level of development of western region inland open economy to the central and western regions; Chapter5examines the run effects of development of western region inland open economy, first of all we put forward a index system from the basic, interregional and international open levels used to assess the level of an open economy, and make an empirical analysis in run effects of the development of western region of inland open economic through questionnaires and panel data from31provinces (or city) of our country; Chapter6provides some policy recommendations on how to realize the fast development of western region of inland open economy, including:enhanced services, tamp open hardware and software environment; deepening reform, strengthening inter-regional interaction and cooperation; structural adjustment, increase the taxation of financial support; solicit resources, and promote the development of urban population growth pole; strengthen cooperation and accelerate the pace of opening and other border areas.
