With the gradual deepening of electric market reform, electric power companies are increasing emphasis on business performance and management to improve their competitiveness. Over the past, it focused more on the annual total profit and net assets income ratio as two basic indicators to evaluate an enterprises’business performance. But, State Property Management Commission of the State Council issued the amended "temporal evaluating methods for central enterprises’performance" since January12,2009, has fully adopted EVA to evaluate central enterprises’performance since2010.This thesis studied on thermal power enterprises’business performance evaluation of the new situation, it has important theoretical and practical significance on continuously promote electric power enterprises’business management.Firstly, this article used the data which comes from ten thermal power companies come into market to progress a demonstration analysis based on EVA about their business performance. Secondly, it combined Activity-Based Costing (ABC) method and EVA to created EVA-ABC method to assess the thermal power enterprises’business performance, and then, processing an example showed that EVA-ABC method could be more exactness than ABC method of evaluating business performance of thermal power enterprise. Finally, this article selected EVA as the main line to analysis the indexes from financial, productivity and business, which could impact EVA. On this basis, it established EVA index system to evaluate the thermal power enterprises’ business performance.
