| Ming enterprises’ foreign direct investment of our country has get alot of fruitful results in recent years. At the same time, the foreign directinvestment of mining enterprises also suffered all kinds of resistance fromall sides. And it hinders the mining enterprises’ the pace of “going out”.So the paper is going to analysis on why the foreign direct investment ofthe mining enterprises is blocked.The paper reviews and combs the related literature research. On thebasis of analysis the status quo of the global foreign direct investment ofmining industry and foreign direct investment of mining industry inChina, we collect eleven cases those are blocked foreign investment ofmining enterprises, describe the characteristics of them, analyze thereasons and classify them. It is concluded that: the macro factors arepolitical barriers, cultural differences, elaborate the adverse change ofmarket situation and domestic low efficiency. The micro factors includeenterprises’insufficient strength, the threat of competitors, and the lack ofoverseas investment experience, etc. Through collecting the investmentinformation of successful overseas investment projects from2005to2013,combining with the blocked investment projects, we use the binarychoice model to carry on the empirical analysis. The empirical resultsshow that the political stability, entry mode, value is the significantdeterminants of foreign direct investment of mining enterprises. And the host country, cultural distance, investment ownership of enterprises,experience of overseas investment is not such as the significantdeterminants of foreign investment. So we put forward countermeasuresand suggestions. The mining enterprises of our country should takemeasures such as the government and the enterprises in unit reducing thepolitical resistance, enhancing their own strength, in appropriate courseand scale investment, taking flexible way of investment and so on toreduce the occur of investment block events. |
