In the past ten years, China’s annual Gini coefficient is more than0.47, far more than0.4of the international warning line. There’s a growing gap between the rich and the poor. Therefore, for China, to study how to reform the distribution system to effectively alleviate the wealth gap has great theoretical value and practical significance. Firstly, this study uses comparative methods to analyze the characteristics, situation and problem of the wealth gap in contemporary China. Secondly, in-depth analysis of the existing problems of distribution system in China, and pointed out that the lack of fairness and justice of distribution system has greatly widened the wealth gap. Finally, this study puts forward suggestions to reform the current distribution system in contemporary China to alleviate wealth gap. These countermeasures include:standardize the order of initial distribution and establish a fair and orderly distribution system; give full play to the government macroeconomic regulation and control function to perfect the redistribution system; strengthen the management and the specification of gray income and illegal income; mobilize social forces widely to efficiently bring into play the complementary characteristics of the third distribution.
