Challenges And Opportunities Risk Of Post-crisis Era Of Internationalization Of The RMB

In the2008international financial crisis, the global economy fell into the recessiontrack, followed by economic downturn, rising unemployment, declining consumerconfidence,so many governments have not only adopted a series of fiscal and monetarypolicies to maintain economic growth, but also strengthened the international cooperationand coordination. Many countries and international organizations blamed this crisis toglobal economic imbalances and irrational international financial system, and the call tochange the dollar based international monetary system became louder, especially afterthe dollar-dominated international currency system damaged the national interests ofemerging markets. At the same time,China maintained high growth for thirty consecutiveyears, the second economic aggregate in the world, sufficient foreign exchange reserves,the increasing appreciation of the renminbi, high economic growth, the abundant fiscalsurpluses all attracted global investors and governments. In this context, the Chinesegovernment also seized the opportunity by taking some measures to promote theinternationalization of RMB. At present, the internationalization of the RMB is in theaccelerating stage orderly.This passage focus on internationalization of RMB risk status, first it introduces theexisting research results at home and abroad, the development mentality and the basicresearch framework. On this basis, it clarifies the meaning of the internationalization ofcurrency and RMB internationalization as well as its component and status; then itanalyzes the opportunities and challenges of China’s RMB internationalization in detail.Through comprehensive analysis, we get that the internationalization of the RMB is fullof opportunities and challenges, but the opportunities far outweigh the challenges, and itis imperative to promote the internationalization of RMB gradually now;Considering theexperiences of existing international currency,it analyzes the unique situation andexisting problems of RMB internationalization, and this paper summarizes that theinternationalisation of the renminbi will bring the risks of capital flow, currencysubstitution, Triffin Dilemma, the existing international currency block, the internationalobligations etc.; Further on,it proposes the countermeasures of risk prevention in theinternationalization of the RMB, such as optimizing of the domestic financialenvironment,perfecting relevant policies and regulations and adjusting the policygradually; finally it selects the path for the internationalization of RMB and short-term,middle-term, long-term forecast of the internationalization of the RMB.
