The Effect Of The Expansion Of Inter-bank Business On Chinese Listed Commercial Banks’ Efficiency

This paper focuses on studying the impact of the expansion of Chinese listed commercial banks’ inter-bank businesses on the efficiency of listed commercial banks. This study combines qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis together. In the aspect of qualitative analysis, this paper analyzes the current inter-bank businesses background, current situation and potential impact. Through empirical research, the paper is based on the data during the third quarter, third quarter2010to2013. And according to the DEA method, estimate bank efficiency and use panel data analysis methods to check the effect of the expansion of inter-bank businesses on the efficiency of listed commercial bank. Based on the above empirical tests on the future development of Chinese inter-bank business, the paper makes policy recommendations to the listed commercial banks’ inter-bank business.This paper comes to the following conclusions:I. Chinese listed commercial banks’ expansion of the inter-bank businesses will help enhance China’s listed commercial bank’s efficiency:when the first difference of listed commercial banks in inter-bank assets accounted for an increase of one unit system value, the bank performance improves0.1773units of value from the regression data;Ⅱ. Chinese listed commercial banks raise inter-debt will affect the performance of Chinese listed banks, when China’s listed commercial banks inter-bank liabilities to total liabilities increased by one unit when the proportion of the value of bank performance will drop0.1062unit value; Ⅲ. Unit value of listed commercial banks increased fee and commission income can contribute to improving the performance of the listed commercial banks, while fee and commission of listed commercial banks to increase the value of a unit, the performance of listed commercial banks have increased by0.0085.
