Since the 2008 Wenchuan earthquake in Sichuan,our country has suffered earthquake, flood, snow and other natueal disasters continuously in recent years. These disasters lead to our country’s economy suffered heavy losses of property. The frequency of occurrence of flood disaster is very high in our country, it is a natural disaster which is profound influenced on the people’s livelihood and the economoc society. How to use the advanced science and technology to achieve the purpose of water information monitoring, to prevent the occurrence of disaster and to early prevention is an important topic that we must study.This thesis focuses on the pressure type water level measuring technology based on the linear wave theory to research and design. Through the analysis of the existing water level measurements and water level measuring devices, we put forward the general framework of the pressure type water level measuring system based on the linear wave theory, we also designed the water level measuring device and realized each functional module of our system. The hardware module of the system mainly has the pressure sensor module, power supply circuit module, data wireless transmitting and receiving module and a singlechip control module. Pressure type water level measuring system uses the ATmega48 microprocessor as the hardware of main controller, and uses ICCAVR programming tools as the software development paltform, and uses MFC to develop the interface, which is used to collect, store and display the data. At last, we use the MATLAB to draw the experimental data diagram. In the process of realizing this thesis, we mainly complete the selection of the pressure sensor, the design of the hardware circuit, the development of the software programming, the test of each functional module, the collection, analysis, processing and display of the static water level data and the dynamic water level data.Experiments show that, the pressure type water level measuring device is meet the requirements of the experiment, the test of each functional module is performed well, the experimental data are the same as predicted, we can use the linear wave theory to measure dynamic water level for monitoring purpose.
