In the engineering problems, It is a common phenomenon for time-delay that appears in biological systems, communication systems, chemical processes and in the electric power system. The existence of time-delay do not only makes the system analysis and synthesis become more complicated and difficult, but also it is the fundamental cause for system instability and deterioration of system performance. Therefore, it has very important theory significance and practical application value for the study of delay systems. This paper explores the tracking control problem of two classes of nonlinear systems with time-delay. First, we introduce the research background on control problems of nonlinear time delay systems. Secondly,We review the research status. Finally, we discuss two kinds of problems as follow:1 The tracking problem on the nonlinear state time-delay system with a uncertain control gainFor a class of nonlinear system with time-delay, by the L-K method, we design to achieve that the tracking error is bounded. It is different from other articles for this paper because the system contains a unknown control gain to make this system more general than other system. Finally, we give the simulation examples to prove the conclusion in this paper.2 The problem on tracking control problem for a class of nonlinear time-delay systemsIn this part, we study the tracking problem of nonlinear system with input delay and state delay. In this, we proposed an adaptive dynamic surface control method. By using the dynamic surface control method, we can avoid the complexity explosion problems existing in traditional back-stepping design. With approximation ability of neural network, we approximate the unknown continuous function by RBF neural network. The tracking error is proved to converge to a sufficiently small compact set. Finally, we give the digital simulation example to prove conclusion.Through this paper, we solve the tracking control problems of two classes of nonlinear systems with time delay.
