When the radius of fiber bend is less than the radius of the fiber, it causes fiber Macro bending loss. We implant fiber into the tested structure using fiber Macro bending loss mechanisms. Through the Rayleigh scattering distributed optical fiber monitoring system, we monitor the optical link loss point position and the loss of information to discriminate component point of fracture and deformation. This paper based on the engineering application, and use macro-bending loss based distributed fiber optic sensor technology to monitor real-time monitoring of slope surface deformation. We build a four-channel distributed monitoring system and a real-time online slope surface deformation monitoring system, realize the slope surface deformation and fracture of effective monitoring. The main research contents are as follows:(1) According to the principle of distributed optical fiber sensor Macro bending loss, we detect the macro-bending loss position and loss information after the Rayleigh backscattering optical power monitoring. Realization of four channel optical time domain reflectometer hardware design concludes OTDR module selection, selection optical switch module, power supply circuit, the optical switch control circuit, and develop four channel optical time domain reflectometer PC software.(2) Using optical fiber in macro bend loss principle to stuck distributed optical fiber sensing net on the surface of diamond by style and layout method, arranges 993m tight buffer fiber on the upper and lower slope to realize monitoring of slope surface deformation and crack position information. Developed a slope surface deformation monitoring network of distributed fiber optic sensing system to surface deformation of slope. Monitoring results of 3 months, slope was found non-reflective events at 928.37m in August 2014, Loss is 2.5dB. Slope deformation is found at 928.37m.
