2,11-dithia[3.3](3,5)pyridinophane contains sulfur and nitrogen atoms, and their molecular skeletons are located towards the different directions, respectively. We can use the sulfur and nitrogen atoms to synthesize one-dimensional complexes. In addition, we can change the metal ions to synthesize complexes with different properties. In this paper, we synthesized 2,11-dithia[3.3](3,5)pyridinophane and its transition metal complexes of Cu(Ⅱ), Zn(Ⅱ) and Co(Ⅱ), and its nonmetal complexes of I2. On this basis, we use the elemental analysis, 1H NMR, X-ray crystal structure analysis to characterize its structure, and we study spectroscopy, crystal stability, magnetic properties by ultraviolet and visible spectroscopy, thermal analysis and variable temperature magnetic susceptibility.First of all, we found that the conformation of the complexes have all changed compared with the Ligand by the analysis of crystal structure. There are many types of interactions between the coordination chemistry, such as hydrogen bonds, S···S bonds. In addition, there isπ-πstacking between the coordination chemistry. Because of those weak interactions, the crystal structure of the complexes were Layered.Second, we analyzed ligand and its complexes by ultraviolet and visible spectroscopy, we found that the maximum absorption peaks shows a blue shift. We believed the reason for blue shift was that the transition metal made electron density of the pyridinophane decreased and the difference of HOMO and LUMO orbital energy increased. Electronic transition between HOMO and LUMO orbital energy need higher values.Again,we found that the complexes were also supported by a downfield shift of the proton. We believed the reason for that was that the transition metal made electron density of the proton decreased. In addition, the TG curves of coordination chemistry were similar, and include three Processes. The pyridinophane decomposition temperatures are not lower than 244℃. All those show that they have similar heat stability. Finally, the magnetic properties of 22 is ferromagnetic and the magnetic properties of 24 is antiferromagnetic.
