MBS(methyl methacrylate-butadiene-styrene copolymer) resin and CPVC(chlorinated polyvinyl chloride) resin are heat resistance modifiers used to improve the Vicat Softening Temperature of PVC(polyvinyl chloride). The effect of theirs addition on the VST of PVC are examined. Other physical properties like tensile strength and impact strength are also studied.It is shown that both MBS and CPVC could increase the Vicat Softening Temperature of rigid PVC. MBS is more efficient than CPVC. MBS could also improve the tensile property of rigid PVC. Both MBS and CPVC have no effect on the impact property of rigid PVC.
