The so-called Neo Baroque style in the modern women’s clothing design is based on the Baroque stylewhich is prevalent in Europe between17th and18th century. During the design process of Neo Baroquestyle women’ clothing, the designers often engage in approaches such as restoring and improving somerepresentative visual elements of the Baroque style simultaneously integrating a variety of other garmentstyles, thus formatting a new paradigm of costume design. In this dissertation the Neo Baroque style will beinterpreted from several angles, for example shapes, patterns, accessories, colors, fabrics, and the reflect ofPostmodernism costume design will be analyzed too. Furthermore, the impact of Neo-Baroque styletowards the retro wave will be neglected. The research methods of this dissertation are literature reviews,case studies and theoretical research respectively. As a result, the author hopes to play a positive role inpromoting the development of research on Neo-Baroque style women’s clothing in its infancy through thediscussion of this article. |
