The surfactants of phosphate ester because of its good emulsification, dispersion,wetting and foaming properties, and performance was close to natural phospholipids,was widely used in the field of cosmetics and personal care products. This papermainly studied the synthesis process and application performance of long carbonchain phosphate surfactants.First, lauryl alcohol polyoxyethylene phosphate was synthesized with laurylalcohol polyoxyethylene ether and phosphorus pentoxide. Effects of the molar ratio oflauryl alcohol and phosphoric anhydride, esterification temperature and esterificationtime on the product composition were investigated by orthogonal experiments. Theoptimum molar ratio of lauryl alcohol and phosphoric anhydride, esterificationtemperature and esterification time were1:1,75℃,5h, respectively.With highMAP/DAP ratio, low phosphate content for reference index, the optimum synthesiscondition was: the molar ratio of lauryl alcohol and phosphoric anhydride was1:1,esterification temperature75℃, the esterification time of5h. The structure of theproduct was characterized by infrared spectrum and31P-NMR. The results of surfacetension, foam height and irritating test showed that the lauryl alcohol polyoxyethylenephosphate under the best conditions have low surface tension, high foaming abilityand foam stability, low irritating. In addition, The results of formula test showed thatthe products have good compatibility whit other types of surfactant, the stability of theformula was well, the foam was plentiful and stable.Alkyl phosphate, an emulsifying agent, was synthesized with behenyl alcoholand phosphoric anhydride as the starting materials. Effects of the molar ratio ofbehenyl alcohol and phosphoric anhydride, esterification temperature andesterification time on the product composition were investigated by orthogonalexperiments. The optimum molar ratio of behenyl alcohol and phosphoric anhydride,esterification temperature and esterification time were5:1,85℃,6h, respectively.The structure of the behenyl alcohol alkyl phosphate was confirmed through IRand31P–NMR, the results show that DAP and MAP were included in the product. The results of emulsion performance test showed that the behenyl alcohol alkyl phosphatehave good compatibility with different oils, could emulsify oil of different polarity,and the ability of emulsifying was strong, when pH was6~7, the emulsifying effect ofproduct was best. Viscosity test results indicate that the influence factors of emulsionviscosity include pH, lactic acid and electrolytes. In addition, the structure of liquidcrystal and size distribution of the emulsion were confirmed by polarizing microscopecharacterization and laser particle size analyzer.
