The fluorinated sulfonimide anion contains sulfonyl group (-SO2-N-SO2-), whichconjugate effect and the strong electron-withdrawing action of the fluorinated group makethe charge on the anion effectively delocalized. As a result, the alkali salts and ionic liquidsbased on the fluorinated sulfonimide anion high ion mobility, high thermal, electrochemicalstability and so on. So that they may be used as new chass of green electrolytesn theelectronic device fields. The new type fluorinated sulfonimide anion ([(FSO2)(CF3CH2OSO2)N],[TFO-FSI])would be obtained to substitute the “F” atom with “CF3CH2O” group of ([(FSO2)2N],[FSI]). In this paper, the K[TFO-FSI] was prepared in a one-pot synthesis by the successivechlorosulfonation and fluorination of CF3CH2OSO2NH2in the existence of low nucleophilicorganic base (e.g., pyridine), where SO2Cl2and KF were used as ClSO2provider andfluorination reagent. The polyfluorosulfonamine, CF3CH2OSO2NH2, as a precursor wasobtained by mixing CF3CH2OH with ClSO2NH2.In the end, four alkali salts (M[TFO-FSI],M=Li, Na, Rb, Cs) were derived by the ions-exchange reaction of potassium salts and eightionic liquids (EMI[TFO-FSI], PY13[TFO-FSI], N1223[TFO-FSI], PI13[TFO-FSI],N1224[TFO-FSI], N122.1O2[TFO-FSI], N4444[TFO-FSI], N4(1O2)[TFO-FSI]) were derived by theions-exchange reaction of potassium salts and halohydro ammoniums.Furthermore, the [TFO-FSI] containing alkali salts and ionic liquids were prepared andconformed by means of1H NMR,19F NMR, FT-IR and ESI-MS. And their physicochemicaland electrochemical properties, including the thermal analysis, electrochemical window, andconductivity so on were extensively studied. It was found the alkali salts based on[TFO-FSI] showed low melting points and high decomposition temperature up to200oCexcept Li[TFO-FSI]. The ionic liquids based on [TFO-FSI] are liquids at room temperatureand show high decomposition temperature. EMI[TFO-FSI] of all show t lowest viscosity andhighest conductivity. They display wide electrochemical windows up to5.5V exceptEMI[TFO-FSI] and Li deposition/stripping could be obtained in PY13[TFO-FSI] andEMI[TFO-FSI], which satisfied themselves applied in the electronic device fields.
