Coal petrology, taking coal as an organic rock, is a subject with physical method researchmaterial composition, structure, properties, has been widely used in coal scientific researchand production practice. The main reason for its rapid development is due to it can predict thecoking properties of coal and coke strength and exact evaluation and direct blending coalcoking properties, provide the basis for the comprehensive utilization of coal. This topicstarting from the principle of coal blending to40kg test coke oven as main means, usemicrophotometer and routine analysis facilities, carried out the following research work:1. To our company’s raw coal, measured coal vitrinite reflectance, coal and rock maceraland coal industry analysis, mechanical strength of the single coal and coking coal.2. The most reliable indicator of identificating mixed coal is the coal vitrinite reflectancehistogram, the histogram can reflect the coal metamorphic grade, is an important basis forcoal classification. Petrographic analysis is expounded in evaluation of coal quality,identification of mixed coal and guiding coking coal blending etc., it has achieved good effect3. Starts with the basic principle of coal petrology, analysis and uses the basic parametersof coal and rock, study the mechanical strength difference between the40kg test coke ovenand production coke oven, seeking the quantitative relationship, to determine appropriatepredicting index of coke strength, initially set up the coal blending mathematical model underthe current production condition in our company.4. Use the actual production data for recent years in our company to predict the cokestrength and imagine using mean maximum reflectance Rmax and inert component gross∑Iand caking index GR.I., established the regression equation to predict the coke strength.
