Gangnan reservoir and huangbizhuang reservoir arethe drinking water sources of Shijiazhuang which is the provincial capital of Hebei province. The water qualityof the reservoir is closely linked with people’s health and plays an important role for the economy development of shijiazhuang and the surrounding of reservoirsand the daily life of the residents. Therefore it is very necessary to protect the drinking water sources and ensure the water securityof the residents. It could stablizethe societyand benefit the nation and the people. The total nitrogen and total phosphorus exceed the standard in Gangnan reservoir and Huangbizhuang reservoir. In order toprotect the water source of them, prevent and control water pollution and improve water environment small scale experiment in the zooand monitoringin the laboratoryis doneat the same time. This study provide solutions for this problem and apply the wetland ecological restoration technology to the management workof Gangnan reservoir and Huangbizhuang reservoir. The aquatic macrophyte which is suitable for Shijiazhuang is selected. This studyselects variety of aquatic macrophyteand compared their removal efficiency of nutrient in water, nutrientconcentration in the sediment of the zoo and compositive purification effect of the complex system. The results are conclude as follows:1.The results show that the nine selected aquatic macrophytes can effectively improve the concentration of dissolved oxygen in water, degradate and removenitrogen and phosphorus in water bodies. It can be seen that submerged hydrophytes is better than emergent hydrophytes which is better than the floating hydrophytes comparing the purification effect of different types of aquatic. The submerged hydrophyteshas the best purification effect. At the same time the quantity of algae in the barricading is less than that of uncontroled barricading for all the nine selected aquatic macrophytes. It can be concluded that the aquatic macrophytes have certain inhibitory effect on algae biomass. The stem and leaf of the aquatic macrophyteshave adsorption effect on the algae and particulate pollutants in water.2.The monitoring results of the concentrations of nitrogenand phosphorus in the sediments show that the concentrations of nitrogen and phosphorus in the sedimentsof the uncontrolled barricadingare rising continuously, however, the concentration of phosphorus in the barricading has little change and the variability of the concentration of nitrogenis greater but also lower than the contrast barricading. It shows that planting aquatic macrophytescan effectively control the quantity of nitrogen and phosphorus in the sediment.3.Not only the whole growing process of aquatic macrophytes could beautify the environmentbut also some of them can be harvest as feed or for other purposes. Therefore, the aquatic macrophytescan purify the water quality, meanwhile, there is potential landscape and economic benefits.
