In this paper, through air injection experimental research, it was analyzed that low temperature oxidation reaction kinetics and the mechanism of enhanced oil recovery through injection of air. It was determined that the extent of low temperature oxidation reaction at different temperatures and pressures and the feasibility of air injection displacement in Shenyang oilfield reservoir, and then offered the EOR theoretical support for air injection. The results of experiments showed that the time of gas breakthrough and the oxygen content in produced gas were reduced, the displacement efficiency at the time of gas breakthrough and the oxygen consuming quantity were increased with the increase of temperature at the same pressure. The results also showed that the displacement efficiency at the time of gas breakthrough, the time of gas breakthrough and the oxygen consuming quantity were increased, the oxygen content in produced gas was reduced with the decrease of pressure at the same temperature. The field experimental findings show that the air injection displacement in Shenyang oilfield resevoir is safe and feasible at some injection pressures and temperatures. By studying the field application of air injection technology, the problems coming in the field and the ways to resolve them were analyzed, the key technology was summarized, thereby, drew a conclusion that research of air injection & air-foam drive engineering technology should be strengthend in order to offer main point for field experiment and large-scale field application of air injection.
