Isophorone (3,5,5-trimethyl-2-cyclohexenone) conjugated unsaturated ketone structure is an important fine chemical raw materials. The structure of the double bond can react further to give alcohols, acids, amines and isocyanates and other products, with a wide range of uses in industry, such as plastics, pesticides, pharmaceuticals, paint and other industries. Stage domestic demand for isophorone increasing industrial production process to find the right has an important significance. The synthesis methods are mesityl law, pressure and high-temperature gas-phase liquid. With respect to the high-temperature gas-phase and mesityl law, the law of pressurized liquid synthetic process is more mature and have more advantages, pressurized liquid method is more suitable for industrial production.In this paper, the synthesis process isophorone improved, self-condensation of three molecules of acetone final synthesis product isophorone, were investigated various process conditions on the conversion rate of acetone, isophorone affect selectivity and yield using potassium hydroxide as a catalyst, adding the right amount of water as the solvent, study to determine the optimum conditions as follows:reaction temperature of 185℃, the reaction time is 9h, the proportion of acetone and water is 8:1, reaction pressure of 2.5 MPa,0.9% KOH (w%), high pressure reactor rotational speed of 600r/ min. Under the process conditions can make the acetone conversion rate of 74%, the selectivity of isophorone 95%,70.3% yield of the product, provide a valuable theoretical basis for industrial production.
