Studying on the synthesis and engineering design of Sodium metasilicate pentahydrate and Crystalline layered silicate in the article. Firstly, the experiment which Sodium metasilicate pentahydrate and Crystalline layered silicate is sythesised by using quartz sand and caustic soda is performed.Firstly, sodium metasilicate pentahydrate and Crystalline layered silicate is sythesised respectively by the reaction of quartz sand and caustic soda, in which liquid sodium silicate as intermediate product. Sodium metasilicate pentahydrate is then preparated by adjusting mold, concentration and crystallization granulation. The influence factors of the Sodium metasilicate pentahydrate quality are analyzed during the experiment, such as n(Si O2/Na2O), Solution of solid content, seed crystal addition amount, and the optimum condition for synthesis of Sodium metasilicate pentahydrate is finally determined.Secondly, Crystalline layered silicate is sythesised by adjusting mold, concentration, drying and calcinations for the intermediate product. And the influence factors of the crystalline layered silicate quality are researched during the experiment, such as n(Si O2/Na2O), Powdery water quality, roasting temperature and roasting time. Finally the optimum condition for synthesis of Crystalline layered silicate is definited.Finally, the study on the engineering design of sodium metasilicate pentahydrate and crystalline layered silicate basising on the experiment is performed. The project is to produce sodium metasilicate pentahydrate 100 kt/a, and produce crystalline layered silicate products 20 kt/a. Producing Sodium metasilicate pentahydrate by continuous granulation process method. With horizontal pray drying method for crystalline layered silicate drying process. In addition, improved process focuses on the exploration in the process of technological design, use of new production processes and technologies,adopt new energy-saving equipment,to reduce the overall energy consumption.To achieve the principle of saving energy and reducing consumption. The article analyzes and compares the energy consumption. The paper also emphasizes the main pollution sources and kinds of pollutants in the production process, but pollution prevention measures are put forward.
