In this thesis, the concept of AIE was applied to the design of liquid crystal molecules. A series of organic liquid crystal molecules with AIE characteristics were synthesized. The chemical structure of the resultant molecules was characterized by 1HNMR, 13 CNMR, and Mass spectrometry. Their liquid crystal and AIE properties were analyzed and characterized by differential scanning calorimetry, polarized optical microscopy, UV-Vis spectra and PL spectra. There are three main sections in the dissertation:1. A series of different lengths of alkyl diphenyl acetylene derivative were designed and synthesized. The molecules of target had been researched their liquid crystal and AIE behavior. The results obtained from experiments show that the compounds can form stable nematic, smectic B and smectic C phase; In the AIE property, this series of compounds possess obvious AIE characteristics. They are weakly fluorescent in the solution state, but in aggregate state, can emissive stronger blue-violet light, and the fluorescence intensity increased 4.7 times than its in solution state.2. A series of tritpenylene and diphenyl acetylene disc-like liquid crystal molecules were designed and synthesized. The molecules of target had been researched their liquid crystal and AIE behavior. The results show that within the temperature of 36-65℃, the compounds can form smectic B and smectic E phase. In the AIE property, this series of compounds with a typical AIE effect which the fluorescent intensity of aggregate state increased 22 times than its in solution state.3. Different side chains of the cyano diphenylethylene molecules were designed and synthesized, the compounds liquid crystal and AIE behavior results show that this series of compounds can form nematic phase, smectic and hexagonal columnar phase, and the cyano di TPenyl ethylene with sector structure, the compounds phase transition temperature can decreased 20-25℃. And have a wide range of liquid crystal phase, the compounds can form room temperature liquid crystal; In the AIE property, the compounds aggregate state fluorescent intensity is 23 times than its in solution state. Because of the compounds chemical structure exist cis-trans isomerization, the compounds performance photochromic behavior and mechanochromic phenomenon.
