Electroplating industry plays an important role in the national economy. And it is one of the major polluting industries. And electroplating wastewater have severe toxicity and harmfulness. So electroplating wastewater without effective treatment can cause large amounts of harm to the environment and human health.Based on electroplating industrial base in Guang dong province. The sewage plan in this base can treat 1000m3 electroplating wastewater per day. The electroplating wastewater in this base is divided into six categories: copper containing wastewater, nickle containing wastewater,chromium containing wastewater, cyanide containing wastewater, blended wastewate and pre-treatment wastewater. A survey was made in this base and some problems was disclosed. Some related suggestions was raised in this paper. The thesis studied the method of copper recycling, a copper recycling device using ion exchange resin and electrolytic deposition method was developed. Recovery of copper has economic value and significance for treatment and recycling of heavy metal in electroplating wastewater. The major research contents are listed as the following:(1) The problems of this industrial base are as follows:many factories dispose wastewater on the sly, copper containing wastewater has not been used effectively. These problems can be solved by following measures: installing online monitoring devices and depositing copper metal by electrodeposition.(2) Analyzing the process of using electrodeposition method to to recover copper from the simulation of copper- containing electroplating wastewater from electroplating industrial base. The effect of initial concentration of copper ion, temperature of electrolyte,voltage,polar distance and initial p H value is investigated overall by orthogonal and single factor experiments. The proper operation parameters attained through experiments are using titanium plate coated with Rn O2+Ir O2 as anode,initial concentration of copper ion 25g/L,temperature of electrolyte 40℃,voltage3.8V, polar distance 25 mm, initial p H value 3.60,additive concentration 0.05mol/L. Under this condition,recovery rate can achieve 99.4%,current efficiency can achieve 88.5%.(3) Positive pole selection. Through titanium plate coated with Rn O2+Ir O2, titanium mesh coated with Rn O2+Ir O2 or stainless steel plate was tested, the effect of recovery with titanium plate coated with Rn O2+Ir O2 is most obvious, so we choose titanium plate coated with Rn O2+Ir O2 as positive pole.(4) The electrochemical dynamic analysis and study on mechanismon the copper electrolysis process.(5) A copper recycling device using ion exchange resin and electrolytic deposition method was developed. Copper containing wastewater is electrolzed after concentration by ion exchange resin. The device can treat 1m3 electroplating wastewater per day. At the same time online probe can help us realize online monitoring.
