At the mine of Shenhua Mengsi Qipanjing, the project of gentle slope vice inclined shaft is of 5588 m in length and of 476 m in burial depth. It spirals into the coal seam working face. The shaft adopts a straight semicircle arch section, and its section area is18.9 m2. The geological environment for the shaft engineering is complex. The shaft is designed to pass mainly through a quaternary sand layer, a tertiary sandy gravel layer and sandy mudstones. And in some particular area, it has to cross the coal seam. In addition to its small section, the shaft construction faces a great difficulty. To realize a safe, rapid and low-cost process of inclined shaft construction, this thesis carried out a research on the techniques of inclined shaft construction. It was based on a study of different construction technologies of tunnel and coal mine in the domestic and overseas. And it was also combined with the features of Qipanjing coal mine inclined shaft.The construction schedule and safety can be directly influenced by the construction method and the transport program. According to the shaft excavation form at the Qipanjing coal mine, a construction method with rail haulage technique was used in this thesis. The construction technology of the open channel segment was firstly discussed in this thesis. It was followed by the study of construction technology of the open channel segment and of the bed rock segment. In the end, a research on the ventilation technology for spiral inclined shaft was developed.
