Double metal composite with network interpenetrating structure is a kind of advanced material which is enhanced by three dimensional continuous grid structures. The purpose is to improve the comprehensive performance of materials. Compared to the composites with the reinforcing phase of discrete, Double metal composites with network interpenetrating structure have much better mechanical properties. This paper studies the experimental and simulation on cutting of the composites using the method of turning and finite element analysis software.According to the specific needs of the experiment, three-dimensional network structure reinforcements with axial distribution, radial distribution and circumferential distribution are designed and weaved. The composites are prepared by the method of non-pressure impregnation process of which the matrix phase material is ZL107 and the reinforcement phase material is 0Cr18Ni9. And the key technology and method for preparing process are summarized. The surface roughness changing with cutting parameters, the different damage forms of reinforcement and the various defects of the machined surface are researched through the turning experiment and the formation mechanism is analyzed. The effect of the reinforcement with different density distributions on the cutting force of the two-phase material interface is also researched. The results show that, the quality of the machined surface is very bad because of the existence of reinforcement. The surface roughness is generally higher than the single homogeneous material and the defects of the reinforcement hump, the matrix tear, the matrix coater and the matrix surface micro cracks are aroused. The cutting process is very unstable, and in the area of reinforcement distributing intensively, the fluctuant range of cutting force is large. It needs a long time to recovery.Based on the experiment, the two-dimensional cutting model of double metal composites with network interpenetrating structure is established. The feasibility of the cutting model is verified through the different forms of simulation analysis. At the same time, this paper analyzes the characteristics of stress distribution of the reinforcement with various forms under different cutting stages. The results show that, compared to the reinforcement with single structure, the reinforcement with network interpenetrating structure is more stable. It prevents the excessive deformation of the reinforcement effectively and reduces the damage degree of the interface between reinforcement and matrix material.
