Pyrazolone and its derivatives are an important class of heterocyclic compounds. Due to their special structural features, catalytic properties and the applications in metal extraction and detection in the last decades, people had a great interest in synthesis, structure, properties and applications of pyrazolone and their corresponding derivatives. Their transition metal complexes have good anti-cancer effect and certain inhibition of tumor diseases, meanwhile they have important application value in the photophysical, electricity, magnetic, biology, medicine, etc. In this paper, four ligands based on pyrazolone deriatives and their transition metal eomplexes have been synthesized by the reaction of 4-acyl pyrazolone with salicylic hydrazide or ethylenediamine. As a result, nine single crystals of transition metal complexes were obtained, their structure and properties were explored in detail, especially the fluorescent and electrochemical properties of the related complexes. The paper consists of three parts:1. The background of this work is concisely introduced with the emphasis on the current study of pyrazolone derivatives and their transition complexes. The main aim and significance of seleced subject are elaborated.2. Two new acyl hydrazone ligands were synthesized: H2L1:1-(4-methoxy-phenyl)-3-methyl-5-hydroxy-4-pyrazolyl phenyl ketone benzoyl hydrazone H2L2: 1-(4- nitrobenzene)-3-methyl-5-hydroxy-4-pyrazolyl phenyl ketone benzoyl hydrazoneWe obtained Cu(II), Mn(II), Fe(III) complexes of H2L1 and Cu(II), Mn(II) complexes of H2L2. The metal ions and counter anions effect on crystal structure and electrochemical properties of complexes were studied.3. Two new Salen-type schiff base ligands were synthesized: H2L3: N,N′-ethylamine bis[1-(4-methoxy-phenyl)-3-methyl-4-benzoylimino-2-pyrazoline-5-ol]; H2L4: N,N′-ethylamine bis[1-(4-methoxy-phenyl)-3-methyl-4-acetylimino-2-pyrazoline-5-ol]We obtained Zn(II) complexes of H2L3 and H2L4, and studied crystal structure and fluorescence properties of complexes.
