In recent decades, with the constant progress of science and technology, digitization, automation, intelligent technology has been developing constantly and applying widely, which promotes the demand for high quality, high efficiency welding and the development of welding technology. Automatic welding can replace the traditional manual arc welding, and has unique advantages. The automatic welding seam quality is relatively more stable. It can ignore the disturbance of human factors, and replace the traditional manual work, then save a lot of labor cost of production and increase the production efficiency significantly. Automatic welding equipment is playing a more and more important role in the industrial field. In this paper, investigation on the magnetic control swing arc weld automatic tracking system has been done. The optimization design towards the related issues of magnetic control of the swing arc seam tracking sensor magnetic field generator and the excitation power supply. Through the sensor main parameters on the weld seam tracking sensing signal analysis experiment, the influence of sensor main parameters to predict response model is established. The main purpose is to obtain stable with low distortion degree of seam tracking sensor signal, to improve the stability and tracking accuracy of seam tracking system, the main contents are as follows:1. Due to the phenomenon such as excitation waveform distortion,excitation signal adjustment difficulties, in the arc sensor module of the magnetic control swinging field, the excitation module design was optimized and the excitation signal amplifier circuit was redesigned, which reduce the distortion of excitation signal and enhance its anti-interference ability, so make it easy for the adjustment of the experimental section.2. The magnetic control oscillation of the arc sensor tracking signal has many problems,such as the bad stability, too many disturbance, and so on. To solve these problems, Latin Hypercube Sampling experiment design method was introduced for seam tracking sensor signal acquisition experiments. The influence law of the parameters on the weld seam tracking sensor signals was investigated, making the foundation for the swing magnetic control arc seam tracking sensor parameters optimization.3. Due to the magnetic control swing arc seam tracking sensor tracking sensor signal was affected by multiple factors interaction, to reduce the distortion degree of tracking sensor signals and improve the effect of seam tracking, Kriging surrogate mode was used to build the magnetron swing arc sensor parameters(excitation frequency, excitation current, the magnetic gap, coil number of turns) prediction model, then validated by the experiment.4. A brief describe was given in this paper about the magnetic control arc welding seam tracking system of the experimental platform, and on the basis of the above built forecast response model, sensor parameters optimization design points were selected. The seam tracking experiments were carry out on magnetic control swing arc seam tracking platform after optimization. Compared with the result before optimization, the tracking sensor signal waveform obtained is obvious and has less disturbance. The accuracy and stability of the weld seam tracking system also are improved.
