In recent years, the security of oil and gas gathering network SCADA(Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition) system draws more and more managers’attention. The real SCADA system is complex and expensive, it’s national critical infrastructure and it’s difficult to do the research on network attacks. The existing simulation platform can’t realise the real oil and gas gathering system, and there is no data on industrial field layer. This study is from National Natural Science Foundation of China "A study of SCADA security defense system modeling theory and simulation for large-scale oil and gas gathering pipeline network based on FNN". The study builds a simulation system on oil and gas gathering network, in order to provide an experimental platform to verify security and defense theories and methods for large-scale oil and gas gathering pipeline network.The paper referenced the SCADA system of Southwest Oil and Gas Field Branch of PetroChina Co Ltd, and investigated the composition and deployment of the SCADA system network. Then depends on the deployment and function in the network, the paper divides the SCADA system into four layers, called field layer, monitor layer, scheduling layer and application layer. Concerned about the limited of software and hardware resources, the study used a real gathering system based on Siemens Programmable Logic Controller and multiple sets of virtual gathering systems based on virtual PLC, and constracted a general management dispatch center, three monitor layer systems and multiple sets of gas station. All that systems build a set of SCADA simulation system for oil and gas gathering, which realized communication between virtual device layer and monitor layer, the control of monitor layer, the management and web browsing of scheduling layer. The platform is extensible, to which PLC simulators, serial buses and virtual station control computers can be added. The study lays a foundation for research on network security and defence of oil and gas gathering SCADA system.Finally, the paper designed some experiment about network security and defence on the platform. At first, the paper attacked a computer of station control system, which installed passive defence system based on code feature matching, then the paper attacked other computer of station control system and website server, which both installed active defense system based on behavior recognition. The result shows the passive defence system failed to detect attacks, but the active defense system could detect the attacks effectively, verifying that the simulation platform of oil and gas gathering network SCADA system can provide an experimental platform for project group to research security and defense on oil and gas gathering network SCADA systems.
