Single cone bit, as a kind of broken rock tools, has a bearing the characteristics of long life, small impact load, thus in the deep well and slim-hole drilling has been widely used. However, there are still a lot of problems to be studied in depth to the single cone bit and the awareness of their performance also needs to be strengthened. In the existing research, we have got plenty of research through study the structural and kinematic parameters of the single cone bit. These studies are not able to fundamentally drill a comprehensive evaluation on the performance of the bit. Besides the methods used in these studies mostly through theoretical analysis, experiments, and the simulation of incomplete, which contains lots of ideal factors. In the derivation and simulation, it is necessary to researchers have higher mathematical and mechanical theory basis. Expect that, the experiment is often costly and time-consuming.To solve these problems, this paper has simulated the interaction between bit and rock based on ABAQUS, through it, we have obtained the drilling parameters of bit footage, rock-broken volume, tooth load, bit force and so on. Based on the he multi hierarchical grey evaluation method, we can put forward a Comprehensive evaluation method for the single cone bit performance, though the method we can evaluate the performance of a drill bit with the relevant drilling parameters. Aimed at the serious wear phenomenon in single cone bit, based on the research and the characteristics of motion of single cone bit, this paper has put forward a prediction method for tooth wear.Due to the complex finite element model, this paper has completed the development of a single cone bit finite element analysis software based on secondary development of ABAQUS and Python language, it has built the foundation for the rapid establishment of model and bit performance evaluation.This paper has done many pioneering work, the specific contents have done as follows:(1) According to the process of the single cone bit rock-breaking, establishing singe cone bit/rock interaction finite element model by the finite element software ABAQUS and exporting bit drilling parameters, such as drilling rate, footage, gear ration,etc, and the bit-tooth,gear ring and bit loading, and analyzing these parameters above. Besides, certain parameters and bench test results were compared and analyzed.(2) Aiming at the condition of the single cone bit teeth wear serious early, based on the research of a large number of wear prediction formula and the consideration force and motion of single cone bit, this paper is the first to construct the prediction formula for single cone bit teeth wear, and this paper has also verified the accuracy of the formula with the condition of the single cone bit field used.(3) After having some research about the grey evaluation method, this paper has established some multilevel for grey evaluation model for single cone bit. Through the combination of drilling parameters, we can study the influence on bit performance, then this paper has evaluated the bit performance of two kinds of special shaped single cone bit. (4) This paper has done some research on the secondary development of ABAQUS, due to the complex finite element model, this paper has done secondary development of ABAQUS, completed the development of a single cone bit rock breaking finite element software, translated the software language into Chinese through Python language and ABAQUS RSG, it has reduced the difficulty of software operation and ensure the fast modeling and finite element analysis model for the single cone bit can be realized.
