The thesis consists of two chapters.The first chapter introduces the development of Alzheimer’s drug research. Development of the treatment for Alzheimer’s disease is a long-standing problem for the medical science. Firstly, this chapter introduces the status of current drug research for Alzheimer’s disease. Secondly, we describes the design and synthesis of a new series of chemical entities for the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease in our laboratory.The second chapter describes the investigative synthesis of the core skeleton of Camptothecin using the C-H activation strategy. Camptothecinis an anti-cancer drug isolated fromnatural plant. Many of its analogueshave also exhibited good biological activity. Firstly, this chapter introduces the synthetic methods ofcamptothecin that have been published in the recent years. Secondly, we describes the synthetic routes that we have designed for the synthesis of this molecule in our laboratory.
