Decentralized wastewater treatment system as an effective supplement for the exiting concentrated large treatment plant is getting more popular especially in the arid regions facing water scarcity and greatly increased demands. Although such small integrated devices developed with low energy consumption and high removal efficiency are commercially available in recent years, their actual performance and adaptation with the local realities still exist some problems. In order to applicted preferably in the future, some important indicators and useful parameters need to be further tested. Meanwhile, the treatment of campus domestic wastewater and its recycle for local landscaping or other purposes is typically significant for Xinjiang today.Based on the analyses of both quantity and quality of the campus domestic wastewater generated from Xinjiang Agricultural University, biological contact oxidation process was selected and a small integrated device had been installed for the experiment. In this study, three key parameters for the performance targeting on the indicators such as removal rates of CODCr, NH3-N and SS were tested during the stable operation of the system. The test mainly analyze effect on the run which according the equipment to analyze the indicators CODCr, NH3-N and SS removal to analyzed the impact about the key factors HL, GWR, HRT and so on. That is when the fixture GWR is 7:1, the HRT is 5h, HL respectively is 2m3/(m2?h), 3m3/(m2?h), 4m3/(m2?h), 5m3/(m2?h), 6m3/(m2?h), through the indicators removal situation about CODCr, NH3-N, SS to determine the best value of HL. When the fixture HL is 4 m3/(m2?h), HRT is 5h, GWR respectively is 3:1, 5:1, 7:1, 10:1, 12:1, through the indicators removal situation about CODCr, NH3-N, SS to determine the best value of GWR. When the fixture HL is 4 m3/(m2?h), GWR is 7:1, HRT respectively is 3h, 4h, 5h, 6h, 8h, through the indicators removal situation about CODCr, NH3-N, SS to determine the best value of HRT.The results showed that the technically and economically optimal HL(hydraulic loading rate), GWR(gas water ratio), and HRT(hydraulic resting time) were 4 m3/(m2?h), 7:1, and 5h respectively. And at then the average removal rates of CODCr, NH3-N and SS were as high as 92%, 76% and 83% respectively, and the effluents were steadily reached 《Urban recycling and miscellaneous water quality》(GB/T18920-2002). Analysis of combinatorial optimization conditions, HL is 4m3/(m3?d), GWR is 7:1, HRT is 5h, the removal case of the indicators CODCr, NH3-N, SS. In addition, comments and recommendations for further improvement and adaptations were also discussed. All these could provide good reference for the potential development and application in the future.
