The influence of the volatile organic sulfur compounds for the environment become more and more serious. This kind of compounds not only can cause the earth’s radiation balance, but also damage to the ozone layer, and even affect the climate change. So the study of volatile sulfur has continuously become to depth. Farmland ecological system as an important part of the global environment was researched by many researchers. In this paper, we had studied the volatile sulfur compounds fluxes of the paddy soil and paddy field ecosystem in the arid areas. The main organic sulfur compounds are COS and CS2 when we add different substances in paddy field, and there also have DMS DMDS CH3 SH.There is a little effect on the sulfur emission of soil when we add the sodium sulfate in it. But when added the methionine and cysteine in the soil, we found that can greatly improve the sulfur release. Ammonium sulfate and ammonium nitrate could also improve the sulfur release. But Ammonium sulfate had a large amount and long duration. Organic sulfur compounds release have increased signif icantly when adding glucose, while adding glucose and urea in the soil, the release of sulfur compounds large than the only glucose adding. The main organic sulfur compounds are COS and CS2 in paddy ecological system field, and there also have little CH3 S H. In the no planting area, the COS exchange flux is emission. But the exchange flux of CS2 is irregular, while the overall direction is emission. In the planted zone, we found that CS2 had a weakly emission, but the COS is absorption, it meanly relate with the rice physiological activity. The number of the sulfur compounds have been improved in the C and D zone. It means that either it applied to soil or plant, the nitrogen compounds have the effect on the sulfur exchange fluxes. The promote of sulfur compounds in the D zone showed that Ammonium sulfate absorbed by microbial or plant in the system can be converted into organic sulfur compounds. The growth cycle of plant, physical characteristics, the moisture content of soil, Sewage sludge management of paddy fields and environment factors such as temperature, illumination will affect the exchange fluxes of sulfur compounds. Effective sulfur and total sulfur in the soil, the total sulfur content in the plant were also related to exchange flux of sulfur compounds.
