Research On Factors Affecting Coal Ash Sintering Characteristics And Fouling

Zhundong Coalfield is another large-scale coal bases discovered in China recently, which is important for the mitigation of the status current tight energy resources. Zhundong coal has the characters of high calorific value, low ash, easy to fire and flammable, but severe slagging and fouling. In addition, Zhundong coal is a high sodium coal, the ash content of Na2 O is basically more than 2%, and the alkali metal may be an important cause of Zhundong coal strong fouling.The investigation on coal’s slagging is common in China and abroad, while on fouling few, and the research method is also extremely limited. In this paper, works on measuring the initial different ash sintering temperatures according to a literature to study their sintering characteristics, changing ash composition by addicting an additive method had been carried out, and the results of the ash sintering were analyzed.Sintering characteristics of PFA( pulverized fuel ash) has a great influence on fouling, if the coal ash is hard to sintering under high temperature conditions, then it is unlikely to cause severe fouling. The study has found that Na2 O and K2 O had a strong role in promoting ash sintered, Na2 O promote sintering much and K2 O promote little at a lower temperature, while K2 O promote stronger than Na2 O at higher temperature. As the proportion of K2 O promoting, the effect changes too. Cl plays an important role in promoting sintered on high calcium fly ash, it may be because of the low melting point materials generated CaCl2 at high temperatures, so that the molten ash phase increases. With the extension of sintering time, sintering proportion Sha’erhu ash gradually increases, while the proportion of sinter change little with Tianchi Nengyuan and Wucaiwan. Fouling has little impact on the atmosphere.
