In this paper, adsorption desulfurization technology has been systemically studied based on Beta zeolite adsorbent.Beta zeolite and Beta/SiC composite were prepared by static hydrothermal synthesis, and Ni, Cu ion-exchange zeoliets adsorbent were prepared by liquid-phase ion-exchange and impregnation methods. On the basis of the experimental evaluation, characterization and analysis, the influence of different factors, including the pretreatment conditions of Beta zeolite and Beta/SiC composite, adsorption time, adsorption temperature, adsorbent dosage, SiO2/Al2O3, the kind of metal ions and its loading, on static desulfurization with the thiophene or dibenzothiophene/cyclohexane model oil as feedstock were investigated.The experimental results indicate:(1) Beta zeolite has higher desulfurization rate by 550℃ calcination and 400 ℃ activation; (2) The desulfurization rate is increased with the increase of adsorbent dosage; (3) The single factor experimental results indicate:the desulfurization rate is highest under the condition of adsorption time 30 min, adsorption temperature 40℃ and stirring; (4) By comparing the desulfurization of Na-and H-, and Beta zeolite with different SiO2/Al2O3, we can known that:the desulfurization of H-Beta is better than Na-Beta.In addition, the lower SiO2/Al2O3, the higher desulfurization of Beta zeolite in the experiments, which is because the lower SiO2/Al2O3 of Beta zeolite is better for the adsorption of alkaline thiophene; (5) The desulfurization of Ni-Beta prepared by liquid-phase ion-exchange is better than Cu-Beta and H-Beta.Beta/SiC composite were prepared by static hydrothermal synthesis. In the experiments, SiO2 molecule layer appeared by calcinating on the SiC power surface, which can be silicon source in the process of nucleation and crystallization of Beta zeolite, and improve the bonding strength between SiC and Beta zeolite. Beta/SiC composite has certain desulfurization performance for thiophene.
