In this paper, we select isobutyl acetate(IBA). isopropyl acetate(IPA) and propyl acetate(NPA) as extractants of PA. Under atmospheric pressure, the liquid-liquid equilibria for the three ternary mixtures(Water+PA+IBA, Water+PA+IPA, Water+PA+NPA) were measured at five different temperatures, by the gas chromatograph. The triangular phase diagrams were presented by plotting the experimental tie-line data and solution curves. The extraction capabilities of extractants were evaluated by using the experimental data in this paper. The results show that the distribution coefficient of PA in IBA is lower than that of PA in the other two extractants. The differences between the selectivity of extractants in the three systems are very small. It is also found that all three extractants have good extraction capability and selectivity in low temperatures and low PA concentrations systems. With the constraint of phase rule and regressions of experimental liquid-liquid equilibrium data of three ternary systems, we obtained the binary interaction parameters in the use of UNIQUAC equation in this paper, and conjugated phases compositions calculated by corresponding phases compositions in MATLAB.It shows that UNIQUAC model could provide a good prediction, and could describe the LLE behavior of these systems fairly well. Meanwhile, the experimental data were authentic and reliable. This paper provides a reliable and fundamental data in thermodynamics for further study on extraction operation of propargyl alcohol. It can be improved for the selection of extractants and for the regression of model parameters in the future, moreover, it is reasonable to apply other models to predict the LLE behavior, and the work of comparison between calculated results of different models needs to be done, including the selection of a thermodynamic model which best suits for the PA-water system.
