This article elaborates the metallurgical research situation of molybdenum metallurgy. Process conditions and process of microwave roasting molybdenum concentrate to produce high purity molybdenum trioxide of were studied. And carried out conventional roasting controlled experiments.Compared with conventional roasting, microwave roasting molybdenum concentrate shows that the temperature rising time is greatly shortened, heating phase can be divided into heating phase, oxidation stability and response phases. Heating stage time for 7-10min, from room temperature up to 120 ℃, the oxidation reaction stage is about 16.7 ℃/min; the second phase from 120 to 664℃, this stage temperature increased rapidly, materials reach the oxidation temperature and emits a lot of heat. Phase 3:after heating 22min by microwave, molybdenum concentrate into the warming phase, heating rate is 6.6 c/min.Combined with chemical analysis, XRD, SEM, EDS to investigate the effect of roasting temperature, holding time, material thickness and other factors on the preparation of molybdenum trioxide oxidation roasting system. It also studies the mechanism of microwave roasting molybdenite concentrate. Determines the optimum conditions:microwave power was 2.5kW, material thickness 2mm, roasting temperature of 650℃, holding for 45min, content of molybdenum roasting slag is reduced to 27.01%,99.92% purity molybdenum trioxide. Compared with the conventional roasting process, microwave roasting has short roasting time, low energy consumption, clean process, one step to obtain high purity molybdenum trioxide. Conventional roasting molybdenum metallurgy technology difficult to achieve.Research of sulfur behavioral changes in microwave oxidizing roasting process of molybdenite. The roasting temperature and holding time and material thickness on desulfurization are investigated. Microwave roasting molybdenite, the optimal technological parameters of material thickness 2mm, roasting temperature 650℃, holding 60min, the sulfur content in the slag reduced to 0.11%, satisfy the requirements. No sulfur in the crystals.Microwave roasting molybdenite concentrate, the higher the temperature, the soaking time is longer, larger average grain size of molybdenum trioxide. Microwave power 2.5kW, material thickness 2mm, roasting temperature 650 ℃, no insulation, and molybdenum oxide crystal length can be reduced to less than 10 μ m. Insulation 60min, molybdenum oxide crystals can be up to 4cm.
