CsI(Na) crystals have a high light yield, and good mechanical properties, have been extensive application in the field of detection of y ray, the detection of dark matter and detection of deep space, the radiation detection properties of CsI(Na) crystals receive the general concerns from Scholars at home and abroad, Among them, the radiation luminescence properties of the crystals is a key factor in the research of the detection characteristics. The paper mainly researches the influence of detection properties from the size of crystal, and the the relationship between the radiation luminescence properties and the granularity of crystal. Which provides a reference basis for the field of nuclear radiation detection, and has certain value of engineering practice and academic significance.In terms of researching the detection feature of CsI(Na) crystals, this paper uses a Monte Carlo program to simulate and compute the influence of detection properties from the size of crystal. The simulation results show that with the reduction in the height of the crystal, the intrinsic detection efficiency decreases, when volume of the crystals remaining unchanged, and the height of the crystals and the detection efficiency have good linearity. The peak efficiency of the source increasing firstly and then decreases gradually rising with radius increasing. In addition, this paper also research the detection efficiency of the NaI(TI) crystals under the same method.In terms of researching of radiation luminescence properties of crystals CsI(Na), the paper mainly researches the radiation luminescence propertie of different granularity CsI(Na) crystals under the different excitation ways. The photoluminescence peak of the massive CsI(Na) crystals mainly are located at 315nm,420nm and 590nm. But, the nano-scale CsI(Na) crystals have visible difference under the different excitation ways. Under the excitation of cathode ray, the photoluminescence peak the nano-scale CsI(Na) crystals are located at 315nm and 590nm, However, it is located at 420nm,when being motivated by photon. The reason of this phenomenon is that, the Na+-relation luminescence gradually disappear. In addition, the paper also researches the luminescence spectrum of the CsI(TI) crystals under the photon and the cathode ray. The results indicate that the nano-scale CsI(TI) don’t have the obviously different luminescence spectrum under the different excitation ways, and the luminescence peaks is at 540nm.The paper researcher the relation of detection efficiency and the size of the crystals, and also can simulate and calculate the other detection performance on the basis of the detection efficiency research of CsI(Na) crystals. In addition, For the nano-scale CsI(Na) crystals, the luminescence center has great changes, when contrasting with the bulk crystals. This may improving the luminescence property, therefore, it will be extension of this subject. And nano-scale crystals is a hotpot in the current materials science.
