With the development of mining industry, as one of the transport of important equipment of open pit mining trucks are also increasingly towards large-scale development, 108 tons and 154 tons of motor wheel car used in mine more and more widely used. Due to the large dimensions and weight mining truck tires, its assembly and disassembly is difficult. Meanwhile, the earlier manual methods for tire assembly and disassembly, not only work efficiency, labor intensity, and could easily cause an accident to happen. Therefore, in mining operations, must be equipped with a special equipment, the large mining truck tires can just successfully accomplished tire assembly and disassembly, such special equipment for tire changer has been widely used.Open pit mining truck tire changer primarily consists of a working device tire manipulator and engineering machinery forklift trucks or loaders, which is mainly used in discounting, moving and stacking work of the large truck tires of metal mining, nonmetal mining and hydropower projects. This paper is based on a company’s LCZ-40 heavy mining truck tire changer for the research object. The tire manipulator is mainly rely on hydraulic drive. Using the joint action of the manipulator with a forklift, the tire changer can realize clamping of the tires, translation, turnover, tire lateral flip around, as well as completing the entire installation lift, tilt, and other actions. Firstly, using dedicated 3d design software SOLIDWORKS, according to the drawing requirements, complete parts modeling of the working device tire manipulator. In the process, according to the working performance requirements, complete the simple design and modeling of hydraulic cylinder and the tire. Then put the tire manipulator and simplified models assemble machine model. Secondly, using the SOLIDWORKS date interface, the whole manipulator model is imported into ADAMS and established the rigid system of the tire manipulator. Thirdly, using the finite element analysis software ANSYS, the 3d parts that needed flexibility in the manipulator make the parts modal neutral file. Then, in the rigid system of the tire manipulator, using the modal neutral file, the fire and hydraulic rod rigid parts replaced with flexible parts to establish the coupled system of the tire manipulator.After finished the coupled modeling, using software ADAMS, by motion simulation analysis that tire flip and the manipulator device lateral swing and comparing simulation results of the rigid system and the coupled system, validate the coupled system more in line with the reality, a more accurate date. Finally, due to the importance of the claw plate part, complete the claw plate static strength analysis and modal analysis in ANSYS, verify the strength of the claw plate part could meet the job requirements very well.
