With the rapid development of iron and steel industry, the demand for steel is increasing, which makes the decrease of magnetite become an important factor which restricts the development of the iron and steel industry. For that reason, people are trying to find an alternative to improve the technology of mineral processing, which makes it possible to apply hematite into practice. But, due to the inherent drawbacks of hematite, which results in a not very good single smelting, so the mixture of the hematite and magnetite becomes a new research development. But because of the difference of its structure, how to control the ratio of hematite and magnetite to get the most optimal material has become a new topic. In the experiments,the ratios 30%, 35%, 40%, 45% of hematite were studied.The proportion and performance of bentonite are adjusted according to the actual situation. And the results are observed and analyzed,and the conclusions are drawn.The results shows that in experimental conditions,when the red concentrate ratio at 30%, the ratio of bentonite controlled at 1.08%, red concentrate ratio at 35%, the ratio of bentonite controlled at 1.1%, the red concentrate ratio at 40%, the ratio of bentonite controlled at 1.33%, red concentrate ratio at 45% and the ratio of bentonite is controlled at 1.37%,all the indexes of ball and finished ball can meet the production requirements, the test targets are over fulfilled to get a complete success.
