It is increasingly prominent for the negative impact which consume environment in order to pursue economic benefits. the heavy metal and dye pollution have caused the attention widely from people. In this paper photosynthetic bacteria were used to adsorb Cu2+ and Methylene blue. The main conclusions are as follows.Isolated a photosynthetic bacterium from the environment, studying its physiological and biochemical functions indicate that photosynthetic bacterium was Gram-negative strain, some mobility in starch hydrolysis test, catalase test and fat hydrolysis experiments were positive. In this study, biosorption of Cu2+ by photosynthetic bacterium were investigated as a function of environment effects, such as adsorption time, pH, initial concentration, temperature. The study indicated that maximum biosorption capacities were obtained at pH 6.0 for Cu2+. The biosorption of Cu2+ by photosynthetic bacterium were rapid biosorption processes. The biosorption of Cu2+ attained equilibrium after 20 min. The biosorption removal rate was 94% within 35℃ at the initial concentration of 200mg/L.The photosynthetic bacteria powder was as adsorbent to study the adsorption of methylene blue, main environment effects were discussed. Adsorption equilibriums were described by Langmuir, Freundlich isotherm model. The environment effects results were as follows: The biosorption of methylene blue were rapid biosorption processes. The biosorption attained equilibrium after 5min. Maximum biosorption capacities were obtained at pH 7.0. The higher biosorption efficiency and biosorption capacities were obtained at biosorbent dosage 4g/L. The biosorption capacity was maximum capacity’s 93.74%. The biosorption kinetics followed the Freundlich isotherm model. The photosynthetic bacteria suspensions was as adsorbent to study the adsorption of methylene blue, main environment effects were discussed. The environment effects results were as follows: The biosorption of methylene blue were rapid biosorption processes at first, The biosorption removal rate was 68%. The biosorption capacities increased by increasing contact time up to 4d, the biosorption attained equilibrium. The biosorption capacity reached maximum capacity 99.98%. Maximum biosorption capacities were obtained at pH 7.0. The biosorption capacity was maximum capacity’s 93.74%, and optim inoculum size on methylene blue biosorption was 20%.
