Briquette has attracted the world’s wide attention for the characters of high combustion efficiency, low pollution emission, abundant sources and better economic benefits. The project of 200000 T briquettes using in gasification was proposed in XX chemical co., LTD in Gansu province. The requirement of the briquette is that its strength is 1000 N, fixed carbon content is of 62% and the low calorific value is above 20.90 MJ/kg.The thesis included following contents:1. Taking the coke powder from Wuwei, Gansu province, LAN charcoal foam from Shenmu, Shanxi province, China grand bituminous coal from Urumqi, Xinjiang uygur autonomous region and bituminous coal from Ayouqi, Inner Mongolia autonomous region as the raw material, the coal moisture, ash content, volatile component, fixed carbon, sulfur content and calorific value was measured. The results showed that the bituminous coal in Ayouqi can not meet the requirements of company as the calorific value is 16.7 MJ/kg and the fixed carbon content is 47.03%, which was lower than that of required. The other three raw materials could reach the company’s requirements for gasification briquette.2. The study of extraction process conditions of humic acid from weathered coal was carried out. It shown that the extraction rate was the highest when the caustic soda liquid concentration was 6% and the mole ratio between alkali liquid and humic acid was 1.7~1.9. The result via calculation indicated that 150 kg boil liquid needed 17.7 kg 28.38% concentration of caustic soda liquid, 31.4 kg weathered coal containing 40.54% content of humic acid, 65.9 kg of water and 35.0 kg quantity of steam(the steam calve opening is 1/3). The reaction time is 110 min.3. Taking coke powder, LAN charcoal foam and China grand bituminous coal as the raw materials, briquette was prepared and the strength was investigated. It was shown that the briquette strength made by coke powder is stronger than that of LAN charcoal foam and China grand bituminous. When the additive amount of clay is 5%, sodium humic acid content is 16% and 18%, the briquette strength made by coke powder is 1022 N and 1017 N, Calorific value is 22.49 MJ/kg and 21.98 MJ/kg, fixed carbon content is 66.36% and 63.32%, respectively. Those results indicated the briquette made by coke powder is completely meet to the requirements of xx company.
