The long-tem use of pesticides bing huge economic and social benefits to us, with the negative impact. Such us environmental pollution, the increasing resistance of pest, even have phytotoxicity to human and animals. Pyridalyl is a new pesticides containing pyridyl group, which was developed and comercialized by Japan’s Sumitomo Chemical Company, with high efficiency, broad spectrum, safety and low toxicity, especially for lepidopteran pests. Therefore, the research of Pyridalyl synthesis has giant economic and social benefits, and it also has a broad market prospect. So it is necessary to research the synthesis of Pyridalyl.In this paper, the study on preparation of Pyridalyl are extensively discussed. synthetic process are developed respectively which are inexpensive and operational, friend to environment, on the basis of document, experiment and analysis results. The structure of the final product was characterized by 1HNMR.Hydroquinone and 1,1,1,3-Tetrachloro-propane were used as the primary material to synthesis pyridalyl. Under the help of anhydrous ferric chloride and Ca(NO3)2·4H2O catalytics, 1,1,1,3-Tetrachloro-propane decomposites to 1,1,3-trichloro-propylene. Hydroquinone and benzoyl chloride reacte to 4-hydroxy benzoate, which reactes with 1,1,3-trichloro-propylene. The poduct of this reaction is 4-(3,3-dichloro-2-propenyloxy)phenyl benzoate. Then the product through hydrolysis reaction to 4-(3,3-dichloro-allyloxy) phenol. The product of this reaction and sulfonyl chloride react to get 2,6-dichloro-1-(3,3-dichloro-allyloxy)-4-phenol, after this reaction, 3-bromo-propanol react with 2,6-dichloro-1-(3,3-dichloro-allyloxy)-4-phenol to form 3-(2,6-dichloro-4-(3,3-dichloro-2-propenyloxy)phenoxy)-1-propyl alcohol. Accompanying with a phase transfer catalyst, 2-chloro-5-trifluoromethylpyridine dissolves in toluene and react with the previous product to get Pyridalyl. The total yield is 49.3%(benzoyl chloride as the primary standard substance).The feasibilities of the Pyridalyl’ synthesis processes have been studyed respectively. It selected an economical process route. The specific factors of yield about the product were analyzed. Groups of relative ideal technological parameters were obtained. The synthetic routes supply a good foundation for industrial production.
