Preparation And Properties Of Polymer Composite Emulsion Of High Cationic Degree

Recently, the requirement for a variety of purposes of paper products is becoming higher, with the development of economy, the improvement of people’s standard of living as well as the increasing amount of sewage discharge. This study was conducted to explore a new type of multifunctional additives, added into water treatment paper-products for the purpose of better sludge dewatering performance and good physical strength and surface properties of paper. To achieve this, a kind of high cationic HCPAD polymer composite emulsion was prepared by applying the chemical modification with nonionic polyacrylamide and cationic polyethylene polyamine, the influence of modifier, promoter and its content, monomer mass ratio, molecular weight of polyamine on the charge density and emulsion stability of the cationic HCPAD polymer composite emulsion were further studied in this article.The study found that its latex particles are particles of cationic groups, hydrophobic genes and water-soluble cationic polymer chains, so the HCPAD composite emulsion is capable of absorbing material with opposite charges, which meaning better sludge dewatering performance and making the paper good physical strength and surface properties. Then in the subsequent dehydration tests, the emulsion showed good capability of dehydration after putting it into homemade fiber-sludge and activated sludge respectively. In the process of the making of the recycled corrugated paper, the cationic HCPAD composite emulsion was applied into internal and surface sizing, the resulting paper gives good performance in tensile strength and ring crush strength. The study also examined the effect of surface sizing by using the cationic HCPAD polymer composite emulsion and Oxidized starch paste liquid with a certain ratio. By using the cationic HCPAD polymer composite emulsion, PAC and Soybean oil hydrophobic agent with a certain ratio, a brand-new type of surface sizing agent, with excellent performance in ring crush strength and hydrophobic property, was developed.
