| The series disc-screw extruder is one kind of new mixing equipment which has got great attention in the field of polymer mixing process in recent years. In this paper, based on the research and development experience of the series disc-screw extruders, the scale-up model for mixing section in the series disc-screw extruder was put forward. By taking CPJ30/70 and CPJ90/150 series disc-screw extruders as the base and target model, optimization of scale-up parameters for discs, theoretical verification and experimental verification of scale-up model for mixing section in the series disc-screw extruder were studied.According to the similar mixing criterion and by means of analytical calculations of scale-up criterion and evaluating indicators for basic characteristic of flow field, the scale-up model for mixing section in the series disc-screw extruder was built up.Based on the scale-up model, the parameters combination for three kinds of discs were obtained. By combining orthogonal experiment design and numerical modeling as the assistant method and analyzing the results of orthogonal experiments comprehensively, the optimal parameters combination of three kinds of discs were confirmed. The finite element software POLYFLOW was used to analyze the distribution of flow field, dispersive mixing and distributive mixing in the base and target model. By comparing values of the similar parameter and similar measure of the base and target model, the rationality for the scale-up model was verified theoretically.According to the scale-up model, the process parameters in the experiment were set. The feasibility of the scale-up model was validated by contrastive analysis of PET/PP blend microstructures. |
