The properties of plastic are light mass, good intensity. It also has the advantage of anti-fungus, corrosion resistance, high electric insulation, the strong ability of vibration damping and good wear resistance. Plastic has been widely used and made social productivity improved. Because of the size and the shape of mold, parts are produced in mold firstly, and then connected together. The troditional methods have bad influence on quality of weldment and the environment that can reduce the productivity. As a kind of advanced method, ultrasonic plastic welding technology improves the development of plastic products and productivity.According to the design of the ultrasonic welding tool, there are shapes of cuboid, cube and cylinder etc. Welding tool should be longitudinal vibration and the amplitude distribution of radiation surface is uniform. The effect of crosswise vibration can be ignored when the crosswise length is shorter than a quarter of wavelength. Otherwise, the impact of coupling effect must be counted. For example, longitudinal vibration can be influenced by crosswise vibration when the crosswise length of cylinder vibration body is longer than a quarter of wavelength. In the application of ultrasonic welding technology, the welding tool which is made by large-size vibration body produce crosswise vibration that affect the amplitude distribution. The quality of weldment will be influenced because the amplitude distribution of radiation surface which effected by crosswise vibration is not uniform. Finite element method is an accurate method to design and analyse welding tool. Slotting is one of the methods to control the vibration.This paper consists of the following aspects:The slotted tools are analyzed by ANSYS finite element software. The law can be summerized by researching the connection amang frequency, amplitude ratio and the quatities of slots and as base to further study.
