The raspberry-like polymer microspheres have the unique morphology and the special properties, such as large surface roughness and large specific surface area and so on, so it can be better applied in coating, medicine, optical industry. Nowadays, the preparation method of raspberry-like particles has attracted much attention. Selecting a simple and convenient method for the preparation of raspberry-like particles has become the focus. Two step dispersion polymerization has the characteristics of easy operation, moreover it can prepare monodisperse, high crosslinking degree, functional polymer microspheres.This paper prepares the raspberry-like polymer particles by two step dispersion polymerization. By controlling the interfacial polymerization method, the hydrophilic monomer can form the smaller coronal particles in the surface of polymer microsphere, and finally form the monodisperse of raspberry-like polymer particles. Investigate the effect of type and amount of hydrophilic monomer on the surface roughness of raspberry-like particles.Moreover, adding water soluble initiator and crosslinking agent can control the interfacial polymerization, also preparing monodisperse, raspberry-like polymer particles. In the effect of crosslinking agent, the surface rigidity of polymer particles increased, so the oligomer exists in the interface. The addition of water soluble initiator can be better initiated monomer polymerization in the continuous phase and interface. And it can be formed the small corona in the polymer particles, and ultimately form the raspberry-like particles. Discussing the effect of water soluble initiator, crosslinking agent, solvent polarity on the formation of raspberry-like particles. And, explore the application of raspberry-like polymer microspheres.Moreover, discuss the effect of the water soluble initiator and solvent polarity on the contious phase. And in the reaction process, changing the polarity of the solvent, can reduce the continuous phase polymerization and improve the surface roughness of the raspberry-like particles.
