Cucurbit[n]urils are new type of macrocyclic receptors in supramolecular chemistry.Cucurbit[n]urils have been the subject of much interest in recent years because of their structural specialties, which indicates that it will have broad prospects in the research field of supramolecular chemistry. However, the water-soluble of cucurbit[n]urils limits their research field and applications within a certain range. So,improving the solubility of cucurbit[n]urils has become a major research topic, and this makes the research of modified cucurbit[n]urils becomes particularly important. In this paper, partially methyl-substituted cucurbiturils are major studies. On the basis of our previous work, the dimethyl-substituted glycoluril dimer are made as the basic reactants to synthesize two new partially methyl-substituted cucurbit[6]uril.Then,a series of addutes based on partially methyl-substituted cucurbituril and lanthanide metal ion have been prepared, and the potential applications of two new partially methyl-substituted cucurbit[6]uril for isolation of heavier lanthanides has been studied. The main contents are as follows:1 、 The first chapter of this paper details the modified background, current situation and prospects of the cucurbit[n]urils, modified cucurbit[n]urils and self-assembly of partially methyl-substituted cucurbituril with correspongding metal ions on the basis of literature research.2、In the second chepter, two kinds of partially methyl-substituted cucurbiturils(OMeQ[6] and o-TMeQ[6]) were synthesized through the dimethyl-substituted glycoluril dimer.Their their structures were characterized by NMR spectroscopy and single-crystal X-ray diffraction.3 、 The third chapter studies nine addutes formed by OMeQ[6] and heavier lanthanides metal ions(Eu3+, Gd3+, Tb3+, Dy3+, Ho3+, Er3+, Tm3+, Yb3+, Lu3+) in a neutral environment, and their structures were characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction, and a series of other means like ITC were done to analyse their properties. Finally, due to the difference of the mode of actions between OMeQ[6] with thelighter lanthanides metal ions(La3+, Ce3+, Pr3+, Nd3+, Sm3+) and heavier lanthanides metal ions(Eu3+, Gd3+, Tb3+, Dy3+, Ho3+, Er3+, Tm3+, Yb3+, Lu3+), analysis its potential application in the separation of heavier lanthanides metal.4、The fourth chapter studies seven addutes formed by o-TMeQ[6] and heavier lanthanides metal ions(Tb3+, Dy3+, Ho3+, Er3+, Tm3+, Yb3+, Lu3+) in a neutral environment, and their structures were characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction, and a series of other means like ITC were done to analyse their properties. Finally, due to the difference of the mode of actions between o-TMeQ[6] with the lighter lanthanides metal ions(La3+, Ce3+, Pr3+, Nd3+, Sm3+Eu3+, Gd3+) and heavier lanthanides metal ions( Tb3+, Dy3+, Ho3+, Er3+, Tm3+, Yb3+, Lu3+),analysis its potential application in the separation of heavier lanthanides metal. In summary, this article made a conclution about the above three chapters.
