Associating with the National Science and Technology Key Project, the National Natural Science Fund Project, and requirements from aviation manufacturing industry, an integration method of CAM/CNC based on dynamic feature is proposed in this paper to address the issue that the NC programs cannot still be available if machine tools are changed during production process. The production efficiency will be affected if NC programs are regenerated, otherwise, it is resource waste so as to keep NC programs universal. And the issue that the low part machining quality and low machining efficiency because the performance of machine tool cannot be fully exerted. The research results have been implemented successfully in some large aviation manufacturing enterprises. The main achievements of this paper are presented as follows:(1) The integration framework of CAM/CNC based on dynamic feature is constructed. The dynamic feature information model is constructed so as to provide the foundation for the communication between CAM and CNC, which includes a series of interim machining features and the machining process information, as well as the inspection and monitoring information. The integration framework of CAM/CNC is construced based on dynamic feature, which consists of adaptive transplantation for NC program module, tool path generation module, and online inspection and monitor module.(2) A dynamic feature-based adaptive transplantation method for NC program is proposed. The associated relationship between NC program and dynamic feature is constructed. The NC program can be transplanted adaptively while the machine tool changes, which contains the reselsection of machining parameters, the update for tool paths and the change of the instruction codes, by considering the machine tool and the CNC system, as well as the interim feature state.(3) The tool path generation method for pocket profile by considering the performance of machine tool is provided. The associated relationship between the performance of machine tool and the tool path is constructed. The optimization method of cutting angle and feedrate speed considering the characteristics of machine tool is proposed. The tool path for pocket profile is generated by using the combination principle of maximum and constant contact cutting angle.(4) The integration system of CAM/CNC based on dynamic feature is developed, which has been implemented successfully in the large aviation manufacturing enterprise.
